Great post!
Slightly off topic-- but the first part of my first name is Rose. The rest of the name is unusual in Canada, but common as dirt at home.
I once introduced myself to a new boss. After he had mangled my name several times while trying to pronounce it, I said,"Oh, as long as it starts with R, I'll answer."
He called me Richard for my 2 years in that position!
