Go to And So To Dream

- Go to Adopt A Trail Time
Even if we can't adopt a highway or a stretch of trail or a piece of park,
we can at least carry a bag in a pocket to pick up trash where someone else has thoughtlessly, selfishly, irresponsibly left it.
It's a rare thing to walk in the woods and not find something of that sort: discarded cans, wads of tangled fish-line (not only ugly but life-threatening to wildlife!) food-wrappers...

That is gorgeous... Years ago I entered a similar program in NYC by which we all adopted stretches of highways. It was fun for a while to go and visit mine... pick up garbish thrown on it... and even try and plant some flowers along the sides ... One afternoon, when I was almost hit by a truck while I planted... my husband made me stop visiting and it became just sending a check. My "highway/child" is still there... once in a while I drive through it loll... but it can not compare with that photograph :-) I guess your "adopted trail" will always be more beautiful than my adopted highway loll. Great post!

What a beautiful photograph....as are the previous ones, which I caught up with today. Thanks for commenting on my post....I'm glad you saw the pictures of the festival--it's all about color against the backdrop of the stark desert. Have a great day! Nita.
