TAPS.
I'm the same way when I'm a passenger, however, I can't bring myself to close my eyes. If death is literally around the next bend, I want to at least see it coming.

My upbringing gives me a unique perspective in matters such as this. I grew up in a household of five strong-willed women, my mother, grandmother, and three aunts. Now living with only one is almost too easy.

Thanks for reading. I'm glad you liked it.

I didn't think for a second that you're naive or anything. What I meant was the general good-naturedness of the site sometimes lulls us into believing there are no kooks.

I decided a long time ago that if I had the lack of sense to climb into the passenger seat with some other driver, I would keep my mouth shut and my eyes closed.  In all my years, there's only been one driver that I never rode with again after the first time.

Another joy to read. I like the way you write. And congratulations on finding the driving solution....not all men would do that, even if it did keep the peace.

very funny and entertaining!  Good write.  I'm not the most pleasant person in the car.  My husband almost threw me out on the GW Bridge in NY due to a fight.  And we ONLY fought in the car!  Thanks for dropping into my blog, and contrary to what you may have thought - I'm not surprised when someone gets nasty in response to what I write.  However, I'm generally pleasantly surprised on Blogit; those I read are good writers, open-minded, and though we don't always agree on everything, considerate in their comments.  Then, I get the kooks and I just have to laugh!  Mal

If there's a solution to be found, first one has to mute the emotional knee-jerk reaction. Usually I can do that.

WONDERFUL read...xxxoxooo
laughing in muted tones ,like two kids in a library, I loved that line. Kudos for solving the backseat driver situation.  lol and I agree the best thing about going out in public is the public. Wonderfully well written.
