Re:

Dear Mal,

Thanks for visiting me!

Yes, that's the problem the same people over and over again and if you are not careful you do get burnt out. It's sad to hear that the crisis is affecting charities as well. There was a national  appeal for Africa here last weekend, and the organisers were worried that people would not contribute as much as they usually do. However the result was much better than they expected. I think though if the crisis is as long drawn out as they are now predicting the charities will of course suffer here too.

Best wishes

I'm one of those crazy people who take on volunteer work; usually as a committee member but sometimes chairing a committee or two.  We have a pretty good number of people who like to "give back" but it's always the same old same old - and that's when burnout happens.  I volunteer in a fund-raising capacity, and these days, with the economy the way it is here, charitable contributions are down.  Keep up the good work!  Mal

Re:

Thanks for visiting my blog Adnohr and I'm glad you liked my train story.

My daughter managed to get up a couple of hours' ago. The children  are both coughing like mad.

It's very sad for our communities that all these clubs dwindle due to lack of volunteers. However due to all the pressures of modern living people genuinely do not have time for this type of thing.

oh boy, I remember being on all sorts of committees (clubs) and hardly ever having time to stay at home. I enjoyed it at the time, but am no longer part of it. As you say, it seems most people are just too busy to do the job required...alot of the committees I was on when the kids were small no longer exist..or maybe just don't do much. Have been catching up on your blogs..really enjoyed your train story..LOL..think we have all been there at one time or another. Hope your family is feeling better?
