I don't have to share my computer and I am glad.

I don't have to share, but actually, I would like to.  I would like to get Son, that shares my apartment, interested in writing.  He has a wonderful mind, is interested in so many things, has a wonderful sense of humor, but he says he's no good at the keyboard.  He would rather talk.   And, he does that A LOT.  LOL.  Sometimes on his days off, I'd like to put tape over his mouth so I can write.

shelly...
Yes, my wife does some accounting at home and during tax time and around payrolls my computer time is limited.  She gets priority since she is making real money by using it.  About land lines, I cringe to think of those days.

Shelly,
I share with M but it's usually okay. I'm sure you're frustrated having to share. (Especially with all the new potential projects on your plate!)

I'm lucky! I have my own at the office (where I'm not supposed to be in Blog.it) and one at home all to myself, even if it's only dial-up. The trick is to find time to use it! LOL. Got caught up on your blogs...how is your head? The post is still there - I hope you're still not banging??

I feel for you. You know that I have at present visitors and I foolishly told them they could use it and check their emails. Result: strange things keep flashing up, they have messed with my icons and are playing games for hours on end, until I get really 'decisive' and tell them I need to work. As they say: no good deed goes unpunished!

Shelley, I know exactly what you are talking about...
When our son & his wife lived with for a while, I could not get on it when they were home. After 17 months, they bought their first house and I had my computer back!!!! It was short-lived.  Our daughter and her two little boys moved in with us for what was suppose to be short-term.  For two years I had to compete for time on my computer.  When she said, can I use the computer for a minute, I knew my time was over for the day.  It is back to wifey & me and I have to all to myself. I am not selfish; I just prefer not to have to make an appointment to use my own computer. lol  Have a good evening!

the computer is in my room, my daughter has a lap top, and I am trying to get one set up downstairs for the family to use, but I am missing a cable to hook up the monitor.  Things I havent located since the move.  Then I hope everyone will stay off my computer!!!!

Shelly????
Is it cable or DSL highspeed....the modem should have more than one plug in the back...you could get a 25 or 50 ft ethernet cord to plug into your laptop.......a wireless router is available for 30-50 bucks......there are ways!

Yes....
With my mother.... and the microwave, the heater, the tv.... etc.

We have very old wiring, and especially in the winter when the electric heaters are running, the computer will shut down at times if other electrical appliances are running.
