This is the worst feeling I ever get.
And I only get it when a horrible disagreement or misunderstanding arises between me and any family member. It's a desolate, hopeless and , for me, a physically sickening feeling. Your poem conjures this up accurately.

I know from my own personal experiences that when you are linked to someone else... they need not say a single word as their feelings unveil themselves upon your very soul.... Very true.... Love your work

This poem is very evocative. Reminds me of a very old pop song by the
Righteous Brothers (I think that's who recorded it) and there's a line about a lover's eyes watering from the smoke of a distant fire.

I love the lines "the mountains have been moved and yet we're two passes, in two different mountain ranges, tripping over hills"
