Re: Welcome Comments

Sam:

Back in the day of the "Bad Boys", the great "small man", Isiah Thomas was one of my favorite players.  And, then too, I liked "born to be wild", Dennis Rodman.

Just to fill in the spot I put the Detroit Pistons as they were my favorite team back then.  Not an avid sports enthusiast in the past nor now, I did enjoy the "games" every now and then with a group of friends.  Also, back in the day I enjoyed the Cleveland Browns with the likes of Jim Brown and Tony Garousa, I believe his name was, the famous kicker.

I spent a lot of time in Detroit and met one of my best girlfriends there who I haven't communicated with in a while though.  But, talk about the memories and good times!  And, then some not so good, which is life.

I see you like Toni Morrison which I started to put as one of my favorite writers because reading some of her excerpts, her writing seemed unique to me.  I thought I liked her until I actually started to read "Song of Solomon" and got lost.  It was as if she was far over my head and beyond my comprehension until somebody told me not to give up and try to read her again.  So, I did, reading about a word a minute to see if then I could understand.

That is a challenge for me right now and I am glad I did not just exclude Toni from my list of great authors.  I know that others enjoy her and that she is a Nobel winner and that she must be good and I am not such a dunce after all.

It is amazing what you do learn through other's writing.  And, of course, we abstain from that "taboo" plajarism, but it seems to widen one's scope, and enthusiam and is a boost to one's drive; that if other's can become famous writers, then maybe we can too.

Sam, I need to thank you for your many welcome comments and for being very perceptive and unbiased in regard to my writing, as "amateurish" as it may be.

I predict that you are an upcoming star in your own right.

On this Sunday, if you don't mind, I would like to dedicate "Quaking" to you, a piece I wrote about a month ago.

Sincerely,

Gloria

Awesome post! I plan to write until I no longer can! I am a Piston fan too! They did not play very well yesterday but I am looking forward to tomorrow's game! Do you have a favorite player? I love them all but I have been partial to Rip ever since he has been in Detroit! sam
