There was a great radio interview on this subject not too long ago.  Dan Pallotta argues that the "tools of capitalism" can help charities reach their goals.

I assume by "people's profit" you mean socially beneficial causes!

Of course, defenders of capitalism will say that the profit of those who work hard is the profit of the people as a whole, since reward for hard work nurtures a healthy society.
