I'll add his safety to my prayer list.
A mother always worries. And prays.

Sam, You write so beautifully. Its like floating through a magical place to read your poetry. I wish your son a safe journey. I watch the show Deadliest Catch often that Naut refers to.. I can imagine after watching that that you worry about your sons off shore work. He will have many memories of that life for sure. Peace dear friend , Peace ~OTA

Your poem gives you a great literary view of the landscape love. And, the symbolism in the analogy shows love for a sailor in it. Moreover we’re pretty much certain sure that you write here about your son.

Hallo Sam, what a beautifully lyrical poem; I enjoyed reading it. Bon voyage to your son! Thank you for visiting my blog. One of my friends has his birthday on the 11th September too; so nowadays I never need to write myself a reminder about his birthday. Have a wonderful weekend!

May your son have a blessed time at  sea. May Mom keep her love  fluted in tune with him while he is away.

Your poem is soothing and comforting..."Near The Reeds", and the title, Striking. I wish your son a safe, warm and successful journey out at  sea.

Shelly

A wonderful poem! And my very best wishes for your son! I wish him the fairest weather possible for this time of year, and a successful and above all safe voyage...

And, just as a matter of interest: have you ever watched 'The Deadliest Catch' on the Discovery Channel? It's real-life footage about the crab fishery in the Bering Sea, and it's one of the very few shows I hate to miss...
