Welcome, elinjo! There is a huge difference between being a charismatic speaker and an effective leader who creates positive results. His performance in the job thus far has assured me only that he has a very steep learning curve that he must ascend very quickly.

Watching the ceremony the day before yesterday, it seemed to me that the error during the oath of office was the only thing that went wrong. Danish media reported it yesterday as well as the repeat performance; however they were very much more interested in reporting his stand on lobbyism, salary freezes and Guantanamo Bay.

He's your president, but we have great expectations to him too. What happens in your country affects us too in Europe. Britain already has 2 million unemployed and I read recently that there will probably be 100,000 unemployed in Denmark by the end of the year; out of a population 5,505,995 Danes December 2008 that is a worrying figure.

Re: Interesting thoughts

Welcome, Hackthorne19!

I'm all for giving him a chance, and I'm working on an essay about that very subject that I'll post shortly. I most definitely want him to succeed - but at doing what is truly right for the country and its people, not in ramming socialism down our throats or weakening us before our enemies.

As for his reverence for and belief in the Constitution: Please identify the article(s) and/or amendment(s) that authorize redistribution of wealth in the manner he has supported.

Interesting thoughts
Let's give the guy a chance. Yes, he's as human as the rest of us and yes, may be he should have been a little more frugal with vacation expenses. But, he's the first man in a long time, to actually exhibit reverence and belief in the constitution. The nation, also, can be edified by his words of hope and unity.
