I had times where I had to carry plenty of books but nothing too bad. Once in awhile the God of Schedules was not kind to me, but I had it easy that way.

Don't get me started. I wasn't in High School as you know it in the US, I was sent to boarding school with the nuns in Switzerland. I didn't have to drag books around, because they were always near, but suffice it to say, that I went through 3 convents before graduation.

i know--- and kids are still complaining
I had to walk three miles from the busstop... because we lived outside the city limits!!!!!!!! with a backpack full of books!!!!

My grandkids in Florida don't even get lockers anymore. They were done away with because of bomb threats, weapons and such. Every student has to carry everything for every class in a backpack all day long everywhere in they go in the school and back home again.
