You're awesome. I have been thinking more about this all evening. I also checked out your search results and have bookmarked two sites that I want to look into a little more with regards to advocates.

Re: Re: Heart-wrenching piece
You're quite welcome.  Why wait?  You could preface your letter with a congratulatory nod and express your confidence in him as the Pres-Elect.  My cousin actually works in the White House for some high-up military guy.  I might be able to poke around...

Re: Heart-wrenching piece
Thank you for your kindness and your efforts. I will check out your resources. I did think maybe I would go right to the top and send something to the Pres-Elect himself, Mr. Barak Obama. But then I thought I should wait until he at least gets sworn in. I appreciate that you even read this piece. If one person can make a difference for him, it will be good. I thought maybe if a wider audience knew then maybe there would be someone who knew someone who knew someone that could make this right. I so very, very much appreciate your thoughts and time.

Heart-wrenching piece

This is a beautifully executed story and plea for your dad.  I would send this, as is, to everyone I could think of that might be inspired to make things right for your father.  I did a Google search for "veteran's advocates" & these were my results: http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=gmail&q=veterans%20advocate

Maybe you should also send this to the newspaper, tv station or even the Petagon.  I would.
