I love learning about family that came before me.

I had a grandmother named Sophie (my dads mom)
I find that my family history is important to me as I get older too.  Why is that?

I love old photos and my grandmother's sister's name was Sophie.

My grandmother's name was Jessie Goldie.

Stories and photos become more important as the children age.

We just found out that my grandmother's mother-in-law kept the

life insurance benefit money from my grandmother when her husband ( my grandfather), the woman's son, died very young.

So Granny had to raise my aunt and uncle and mom all on her own with no money and no help.

It took Mom 80 years to reveal family secrets.

A wonderful photograph! RASSE.
I want her in my family history.  She would have loved my grandmother who was a quilter.  In 1919, my grandmother was a young mother in her thirties and would have just loved listening to tales as they sewed.
