- Go to A Foghorn {prose poem}
Awe yes.... "the fog horn is like a breath of fresh air" I agree. When I lived in California on the Straits.. I loved it.

Late at night or early before sunrise the sound was awesome, but the fog so erie. The memories of the sound still make me smile. There is a sweet depth in this poem..love it.

sam, a very haunting memory (no pun intended) of times and days gone by
And I think you're right, that fog never did go back to sea, or disappear..indeed, very symbolic!...

Sam, this reminds me of the first time I ever saw the Pacific Ocean. It was along the Oregon Coast and the fog had rolled in and the foghorn was continually making its mournful noise. Quite impressive. I'll never forget how it made me feel.

Shelly
Very powerful in its symbolism. And it is also very personal for me - the sound of the foghorn is associated with so many periods in my life...

Re.fog
Reading your prose poem triggered of reflections about some of the sad events in the world during the past three weeks! No sign apparent that the fog will clear away.

Insightful commentary on the inertia and ennui that have engulfed most of us in the current generation.

I think you could be right. Haunting~I also find a residue of the past that colors today in foggy shrouds to disguise contentment with disasters and wars.The written word a foghorn that warns of these rocky shores.

BEAUTIFUL !!!!!!
There's something dark, mysterious and very hauntingly romantic about the fog.
