Nautikos - I completely agree and have often said that our religious wackos

are a better breed of wacko that theirs.

At least our religious wackos seem to be only after money and a handful of abortion clinic bombers aside, not intent on using violent terror tactics against innocents. Education and the social expectations of a free society versus the industrial duty brainwashing inherent in a theocracy as a nurturing environment, I feel are the primary differences.

Talion_ - good point, why would anyone expect Satan to follow the script?

The part I find laughable is how everyone on this planet is somehow supposed to abandon what they believe to follow a new "false" religious leader.  There is a common element amongst those who are proponents of this stuff, aside from not being able to reasonably explain how any of this would come to be, to a person they seem ignorant of the history of this book. Since it first appeared in the 1st century, there have been a number of attempts to exclude it. Many of the Christian sects completely ignore it in any supplementary teachings they derive from the bible such as Catechism or Sunday School.

In the historical context of the so called "eternal truths" of Christian dogma, the now popular myths and fables derived from this book are best described as a modern era fad. This fad nurtured and proliferated amongst a handful of protestant Christian sects in continental USA more than anywhere else.

As always, well written and greatly entertaining...

But I must confess, these days I am less comcerned about our wunnerful Christians than I am about our not quite so wunnerful Muslim fundamentalists, who are also into this revelation thing (the Hidden Imam, the Mahdi)), and guess what - they also have the Jewish guy come back, but he'll be telling everybody they must become Muslims...And so that he hasn't got too much work when he gets here, in the meantime they're preparing the soil, as it were...

There's one thing that bothers me about this whole scenario. Satan's masterplan is laid out in detail for everyone to see. It's printed in books, posted in blogs, made into movies, discussed on any given Sunday in churches throughout the world. Everyone knows. Everyone. With this in mind, we're supposed to believe that Satan, the great deciever, is going to follow through with his masterplan just the same? He won't even tweak it a bit, just to keep everyone off balance? Here's a guy who obviously doesn't have a lot of respect for God's authority (afterall, he staged a coup), is brazenly dishonest (he tricked Eve into tasting the forbidden fruit), and is blatantly a terrible individual through and through (he's responsible for all things evil), but we're supposed to believe he'll follow the script neatly laid out for everyone? In essence, we are expected to trust Satan not to lie or "cheat." Wow.

TexasGem - you see, brainwashing doesn't work on everyone
When some of us were going through our indoctrination and brainwashing years, we had the nerve to ask questions which eventually led to some important realizations about what we were being asked to buy into. But for some unfortunately, the outcome was not so favorable, they remain utterly brainwashed to this day. Convincing themselves that believing all of this stuff somehow makes them better people.

Man, You sure know alot about the bible not to believe it!
Yes Sir, You may just be one of us wunnerful Christians that escapes the arocities that will take place at the time that Jesus returns. Remember, Don't be grounded when the rapture takes place! [I think you might be a preacher in disguise or you may be using reverse psychology--which is it?]  Man, keep on preaching; you may be the best cyber-evangelist that we have seen yet!
