I understand how you feel. I decided to have a melt down yesterday because of my sister and my grandson. I'd start looking for that log cabin too, Pat - except for the fact that I live in one.

Actually I have no say in any of it. If I were half smart, I'd keep my mouth shut and let the kids duke it out their own way. Somehow the notion of a mountain cabin somewhere off the beaten path is calling me again. If I can sell my house without taking a big fat loss....

A sad situation! It's unlikely that Fred's long pattern of dealing with circumstances by waiting until circumstances deal with him is going to change, especially when family is involved. You might want to get an outsider, preferably a doctor (because of the added weight a 'professional' opinion might have for him) to try and finally force him to decide...
