Re:
RASSE, that is what I hope that my friend's son will not bring into his family. That sorrow lasts so long because the person is alive and yet dead to the family.
I too am sorry for your cousin. So sorry.

Re: benzinha, sorry to hear about this
Greenfields, the line between conventional thought, revolutionary thought and aberrant thought is a very thin one and difficult to discern somedays. I hope that his eyesight improves and that invisible ties become visible to him.

Re:
rockingrector, that's the prayer, isn't it? but, it is truly up to him to see the small twinings that are beginning to bind him to the group and to pull himself free.

Re: I am with you dearest Cults are dangerous. We've all seen results.
They have been around for centuries, that I know of, Kabu, and are difficult to fight off. May this very young man see the danger and change his path, I pray.

So, so hard. My cousin's mother joined a cult when my cousin was only 13. Thankfully the mother left my cousin and her siblings with their father, who raised them wonderfully. However there is still a huge hole in my cousin's heart and a bitterness toward religion-understandably so. It is so sad.

benzinha, sorry to hear about this
so distressing to parents. One can hope that they come out of it unscathed. In our healin we could say 'it's something they have to live through'. But, I now t's hard when its one of your own. For me, the important thing is to have faith that all will be OK. Having the faith is the thing - also the hardest part, yes?

Re: Re: Re: Big hugs for your friend
Thanks, mousehop for reading and for writing.
I despise cults and cultish doctrines. The separation of humans over ideas and ideals is wrong, we must continue to mix and irritate each other with true reality, no?

Re: Is This Cult The Democrat Party?
No, RedStatesMan, this cult is even more insidious than the Democratic Party, can u believe it??
There is a heck of a lot of 'casting the first darned stone' going on in America right now and I want that to stop, too. K?

Is This Cult The Democrat Party?
In all seriousness, I pray that God will change things for this young man. Cults are of the devil, pure and simple, no matter what others tell you. They always have and always will. My thoughts are with you!

Re: Big hugs for your friend
She tells him that and does that a few times a day, he is the one who judges now, judges her often during each day and tells her that she is failing as a Christian and as a foster mother. Saying just mean things to a very giving and supportive woman, is his new job, I guess....

Big hugs for your friend
Hopefully, she is able to tell her son that she loves him and does not judge him.
