The Harder Path
We can hope that cool heads will prevail, and diplomatic solutions will be found, but it will take a determined effort and strong follow-through, something hard to find in politics and international affairs. Rockets launched from Gaza cannot be tolerated, but the urge to over-react is strong. There is no quick or permanent solution to this problem. The rational path, though, is going to be much harder to follow.
