I know what you mean and not to take exception with something I agree with, I would add that the problem with all traditional religions is in the fact that they have two primary focuses. Selling themselves so that they may expand and preparing people for the afterlife as a means of selling themselves so that they may expand. Introducing another focus in institutionalizing concerns for the planet we live on through the indoctrination tendencies of religion seems like an idea that is inevitable.
