Marion, I missed the original challenge...
...but would like to offer the following (Haiku style)...
Stepping toward the light
on a golden thread of hope
"Freedom's Light" is such a beautiful piece. Thank you for sharing. Peace, blessings and understanding.

Lovely and dream like work!
My haiku-ish offering..:)
Light through leaf veins hold
mist of yearning hues open
Her vision flows free

S
he dreamed she lived in a cage
with golden bars all around
and someone had left opened the door
so that her spirit could fly
so she had ran out and started walking
on a rope made of fine gold
tittering above an abysm
freezing and very scared to fall...
when all of a sudden
above her , clouds made of crystal
blocked out all the cold
and a strange warmth enveloped all
like a sweet embrace
of cinnamon and vanilla
that she could mysteriously taste.
The sun that shined low in the distance
was disappearing very fast,
somehow she knew that with that sun would go her time,
so she ran towards the glow that sun was leaving behind
and in her rush she did not notice
in her golden cage she had left her heart.
She looked ahead at the wonderful glow
and back at her cage so sad, so dark
and she wondered... if I am in the light,
can I live without my heart?
