New Year Parties

I am so glad I don't suffer them. I stay home. I flirt with Tolstoy, Salman Ruskie or Jane Austen or Jodie Picolt. What a waste of precious time parties, unless they are for a purpose like a birthday or to celebrate an achievement. Hate the senseless waste a of money that is New Year's Night.

I agree that dealing with unruly drunks (especially flirts or agressive drunks) is disagreable. It's much easier putting up with pot smokers, who mostly just spend the time giggling or talking peace or telling way-out stories. Yet booze is legal, and pot is criminal. Go figure!

I skipped a New Year's/Christmas party because of the drunks. Like you I am not amused by it either.
That really stinks they brought their dogs. I've always found it rude when people bring their pets.
