Attempting to "convince" anyone is an exercise in futility and very much involves the ego. Only the Holy Spirit can draw one to God and change one's heart from a non-believer into a believer. I know, I know, the second sentence is just a group of "words...catch phrases...strung together...meaningless except to the author."
