Oh Captain, My Captain
A guard captain at the museum where I sometimes work took offense when, on Christmas Eve, the dock guard wished him a Happy . . .  That's as far as he let the dock guard get.  "No Happy Holidays for me," he insisted.  "Merry Christmas! (Damn it!)"  He doesn't claim to speak for all people or all Christians, just he righteous ones.

Trouble is, the dock guard was British, and he was trying to say, "Happy Christmas and Merry New Year!"  Too bad the captain couldn't hear.

I am not offended one way or the other. I think that those who are see it as another way to eliminate Christ from the picture. The thing that I could get offended about if I let myself is people coming from other countries who try to bully their way in and want to change things. Could you see me going to the Mid-East and tell them from now on there was to be no rags on their heads and we would be reading from the KJV Bible and not from the koran or torah was a myth? I'd be flogged before sundown. So don't be too hard on Christians that feel their traditions are being violated. Just a thought! Merry Happy Christmas Holidays! Blessings to you and on you!
