Davy Dog is doing his bit to make sure
there is sufficient nitrogen in the environment. And sulfur. And he is too diligent in this matter to let the politeness of the company deter him.

When I worked for a cartage company a couple years back
we hauled liquid fertilizers from refineries to the farms, the most dangerous being anhydrous ammonia. Miss Frances ran the office, and the billing clerks, with an iron hand. (no velvet glove, either) She used to say snow was our competitor, because if those flat Illinois farmlands got enough nitrogen from snowfall over the winter, there wouldn't be such a market for the anhydrous (which I surmised converted to nitrogen in the soil).
