I am of the opinion most of the world which does not exercise democracy will never, in our lifetime, truly embrace its concepts. For the most part it seems to thrive in areas that have had it for centuries or decades. But it is less sustainable in areas that adopted its tenets recently. I do not know that the latter will ever be truly democratic.
