Suprise, suprise!
Now that was a good catharsis.
By the way I remember my 8th grade being the worst of all. And I'll bet that may be everyones worst year as well. Perhaps everyones self-hate hormones are all crashing against each other.
You also have a very valid point about religious people seeking strength they can't achieve for themselves. Often true.
But now I have a prediction for you. I believe you will eventually become a Christian. I'm not taunting you mind you, it's just I believe things go full circle.
As you now pat yourself on the back for having done it all yourself you may now look for a new frontier. You may start to feel a certain emptiness and realize you need to get back with God. There's no rule that says you have to be one of those weak ones that's using God as a crutch.
Your newfound belief in God would be more valid than those crutch types.
And I think there is only one type of person that believes in God more than religious people...and thats an atheist.
So here's a saying to suit your current attitude....religion is for people who're afraid of hell. Spirituality is for people that have already been there.
