Interesting...
but I still have to believe that we are moving forward. Afterall, the majority of Americans seem to be tired of the good ol' boys club and thank God. Hit them in the wallet long enough and send their sons and daughters off to die and that tends to happen. Sometimes, we need a little motivation of the personal kind.
Still, I have noticed since the election that some folks with otherwise "dormant" racist tendancies feel very threatened by our new president elect and what their perception of what he "stands for". I'm saddened by the backlash of racism, but somehow am glad at least to see the true nature and scope of the problem in this country now that racism is no longer safely swept beneath the oval office rug. Now it must be dealt with and confronted.

Even if Obama was elected on the basis of his skin color....
....doesn't necessarily guarantee a negative outcome. Some good can still come from it, especially considering that many whites, myself included, voted for him based on his merits and not because of his skin.
I think it's a positive that we elected a man of color, if only to get it out of the way, so we can better move-on as a nation striving to be color-blind.

Re: Well moving forward is the thing we should do.
But instead we're doing a political moonwalk.
