TAPS
Thanks TAPS.  You'd think the locals would have learned about the corner by this time.  I summer time when they flip off the road, it is because they are too busy watching water skiers and etc, but in winter time??   We'll have a CD ...oops, DVD etched in gold, TAPS.

Great post to read!
We have a deep ditch in our road right where it makes a 45o turn from going east to north.  Every winter unsuspecting drivers end up with their front end down in it and their back end sticking up.  So far as I know, no one has been injured badly in the years that we have lived here.  I know it will be fun for you to watch for your grandson on TV the day of the inauguration.

It is a shock to the system, isn't it.  I like the ' grub against the cold' - that's me to a T..

I remember indoor swimming in the winter in Nebraska
What a shock to see people not in heavy winter garb...and then to shower off, and go get the car still with traces of chlorine in your hair, bundled up like a grub against the cold.

Krisles
The cold still stuns me Krisles even after 6 years.  When I had to clear the car of snow and ice one day this week, I was all covered up and even had a scarf over my mouth.  My neighbour called across -"It's a brisk morning, Mac."  I looked over to answer him, and discovered that he was also clearing his car - but he was wearing a short sleeved t-shirt.  That's why I'll never be a Canadian in the true sense of the word.

OMG!  I can't imagine living in such a place......I like a couple or three good snows just to enjoy the beauty and novelty of extremes.....but, enough is enough!  I've still only worn a coat once this season.....I'm honestly getting a little bored with the warm weather, but I don't want to go sliding into fridges by the road so I appreciate the little reminder and I'll quit bitchin' about having to go from heat to cool with the thermostat......stay warm, dear man....stay warm.

Thank you sam444.  Too late about the fridge.  It was picked up the same day and so far I haven't heard any reports of bodies being discovered in fridges in the city dump - now there's a CSI plot for you!  It will be a great memory - an unbelievable memory.

Pat-B
Your Florida visit sounds so appealing Pat.  Not trying to put a damper on things (he he he) but it is going to be really miserable returning to reality after the week is over.  Enjoy, and don't get sunburned.

What a great post! I laughed and laughed. You are right, you would have been left until Spring. Too funny on the fridge! I could see her looking at the tires too! I think there is something in the fridge, check it out. lol I tell you, I so appreciate the desert this time of year. We get a little snow from time to time but it doesn't stay on the ground through the day. It is so fun to read your posts, more please! Congratulations to your grandchild. It will be a great memory too! sam

We had a few flakes overnight. The ice has melted, it's possible to get
out of the house. I can only be thankful not to have to deal with conditions like you're "enjoying." I'm supposed to head for Florida on Wed. It will be very nice to have a week of summer in the midst of winter.
