Would that we could have known the answers then Shelly
perhaps its best that we don't always know what life turns out for us sometimes! Marvelous piece my friend; many blessings and thanks always

Bitter sweet nostalgia. Sam, I love short poems. Honestly, I run out of patience reading long winding poems, stories etc. I am loving your short poems. Your poems are just right size, neither long nor too short. Perfect fit!

I was not there in1942 but am with you in thought progression. We always wondered what year 2000 would be like and how old would I be! It has come and gone and the future is still a mystery!

I was just imagining myself to be at 1942 and then at 2022. In one, I was not, and in the other, I don't know whether I will be

? Aww, I had to give it up. Oh sis, tell us with your poetic imagination, and you know I am not a poet, what it will it be like?

ed the poem and love to all in the family. As for my eyes, it still troubles.. and for a year and a half I'll have to wait until I can get my cornea grafted with a donor eye. There is a long queue at the eye bank and you have to wait that long before you can get a donor eye.

I like that; it opens so many possibilities! I'd like to see it in black and white too, with Humphrey Bogart, maybe, standing in the background; smoking a cigarette and looking at this young woman, alone on the train platform?

I'm imagining one of those great old black and white movies(oldies but goodies) and that faraway look in the eyes. The old and new crashing together... how strange life is.
