yeah there's "free will", but God planned it that way.

He's already decided that each of us would decide which way to do.

That's called "predestination".

We we can do whatever we want, but god has decided who would do what way back there some time.

Isn't that just great?

kooka_lives - I've always wondered how people that believe this stuff can

get past the most obvious of inconsistencies.

The eternal suffering in a lake of fire for example, is always depicted as people with their bodies fully intact suffering physical pain when we know that our bodies rot in the ground after burial. Then of course there is the question of the punishment suiting the crime, an eternal prison sentence with ongoing torture for a few decades of a misguided life? By any measure that can only be considered as cruel and unusual punishment, not to mention the complete lack of reform opportunities.

This stuff of course played well when the masses were almost completely illiterate but my question is how have these primitive notions survived into the modern era?
