I understand your explanation. Along with Sunnybeach on Straightforward"s comment page, you seem to have a reasonable interpretation of what the author intended.

Another take on that last quote, and various related blog entries...
Many do not know that "Caste" in India is synonimous to "Race" in most of the western world, including of course our beloved US of A...however, each individual, regardless of caste / race, has a unique "lineage", and that is why all marriages r by defintion mixed marriages...on a lighter note, thank God, who'd want to "marry" a sibling but a sub-human / animal :)!
