I had a wake up call over a year ago now and have been sober since.I was a daily battle to not pick up the bottle i never thought it would be so hard to stop. If I had of keept going who knows if I would still be here today. It wasnt the drink itself but the danger i put myself in when i was drunk, it scares me to think of what has happened to me and i wouldnt know, i blacked out a lot. alcohol was a way of escaping and masking issues in my life but really caused more issues in return i now have to deal with those issues all over again- sober, if only i could have dealat with it properly in the first place without the drink. Alcohol is most dangerous because it is legal it is accepted.

i have struggled with alcoholism for 35 years - it isn't easy to explain to people that they indeed have a problem.
