Sometimes the whole love is difficult to find without God. We expect the others to fill that emptiness inside us when it can only be filled by God Himself. That ache is there to turn us in the direction of Him. But saying "I love you" should mean just that ... I trust you. You're important to me. I value you and our relationship. The old phrase "you complete me" has to be saved by the Savior alone. Way to get me thinking!

Yes, but we are all somewhat immature; we all lack some self esteem; we are all human. Because of these shortcomings we compensate and rationalize. It causes the other problems but it hurts us more. It is am imperfect world.

You shouldn't be an over jealous person, but I think to get
jealous a little from time to time makes the other person
know you worry a little about losing them, than not caring
at all, if that makes sense.

My biggest problem with competition is............
with my soul mate.........and it works both ways. We are always trying to out do one another....even with the smallest of things.....

Well said. I hate mind games. Love and trust should go
hand in hand. Too bad it's not always like that.

Pat, true, for some it's "I love you, but I love myself more" hence all the
issues that follow.

Yes...I believe love is a risk worth taking because love and caring and the thoughts and deeds that accompany them are really the only things that positively develop the spiritual being (the true inner being.) Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Peace, blessings and understanding.

I haven't found "I love you" to be a reliable guarantee of trustworthiness.
Few are stalwart and true. Which didn't stop me from taking a chance on love. Someone said a second marriage shows that hope is stronger than experience.
