Sleep deprivation is a torture technique. If the military wants to harden
soldiers and make them functional in the face of such terrorism, they should put each enlisted man in charge of mothering a newborn for a week.  If they can respond to simple questions, remember what they're doing and where they're going after that, they can take on any objective. Being a mom is crazy-making. Somewhere in the pediatric sciences there must be at least one genius who can come up with a way to get a kid to sleep now and then so the Mama can.

I do not require much sleep. Between 4 and 6 hours per night. I think sleeping is a waste of my time. I only sleep when my body tells me to! sam

Blieve me sleep is very necessary
Sleep is very, very necessary for the body and brain to function.  This is why I always taught in my birthing classes that when baby sleeps---Mommy sleeps.  God had a plan when during the last trimester you had to get up every hour during the night to pee.  By the time the baby comes you are already chronically tired and used to getting up at night.  My daughter is adopted so I went from sleeping through the night to a newborn's schedule.  System shock.   Now I have to adapt these same principles to my husband who has parkinsons and Alzhiemer's except I have Fibro and Chronic Fatigue so I have only one window to get to sleep and I don't often get it because of the care he needs.   Sleep is very, very, very necessary for sanity.

I've been having quite a lot of insomnia attacks lately.
I'm tired. but my mind won't rest. It sucks. I am very great at meditating myself to sleep normally. Lately nothing seems to work. I have heard of people who never sleep. I can't imagine it. Interesting...hmmmm...very interesting.
