I think that is fairly normal, we are all carefully (if unknowingly) trained to focus on other people rather than ourselves and it makes it difficult to really love ourselves

Until we taught me how to see I loved this line because it’s the “we” that opens our eyes and heals us. And, yes, we most definitely should love ourselves as much as (if not more) than we love our lover.
