i was beginning to feel the same way- and strangely, your post makes me shrug it off. i came here with the intention to be read and get something tangible back. thanks to some of you, the first intent is being met, albiet slowly. As for the latter, i think someone devised a term 'long term investment'. i'd like to find that person and ask a few tough questions.

Nautikos, same here...in fact, we'd have to share tin cans!

Ariala

I actually never bother with the official ratings, I just check how many readers have clicked on, i.e. read, my posts. As I said, with any of my series the numbers were exceedingly small.

If I had to rely on Blogit for a living, you would find me in downtown Toronto on the sidewalk with a tin can and a sign, 'StArVInG bLOGIT bLOGgeR'...

Corbin, you're right, and every time I forget, I am sorely reminded of that
fact!

Naut....hit the nail on the head........
The fact is to get readers....think of yourself as  "text messaging" them.

It not worth spending hours to find the material supporting your point, fitting it together in a coherent fashion........and sit with the crickets.....

Entertain, interact, and create fun......."Go With The Flow"

Nautikos, I wonder how the ratings work in terms of readership/clicks? I
guess I was amazed at how few readers I got on a post that I really took my time writing, while those I take seconds to write get lots of clicks and readers...it's pathetic...I've been here a long time and you'd think I get used to this. LOL

Ariala
Welcome to the club! According to the ratings, any and all of my series were total flops - but then, I wrote them because I enjoyed doing them, and a few people did like them. I may even do more, if I find the time, and the ratings be damned...

Thanks, Pat...I can always count on you and I really appreciate that!

I read you for your personality. I know that's an old-fashioned term
these days, but "baby, you've got it!" and even 30 seconds of Ariala adds a spark to the Blogit experience... So you go, Ms. A.  Do your thang!  :)pat

Straightforward, the point is, some days I get little to no clicks on the
articles I've put my time into...it's more than about rank...it's about being read!  If you have no readers on Blogit, you're just churning words out for nothing...

Hey Ariala, it's the quality of ur readers and not the quantity that should

count. And u don't always have to be no. 1. I hate ranks in fact, cos they really mean nothing.

If u still are keen on many clicks, then keep writing some crap for that purpose. But what really counts is the stuff u put your heart and mind into.
