EXCELLENT Sam! I know the feeling so very well! (During the past-for these
feelings changed of course for me but they stayed many years.) They WILL leave and you will move on again-when the moment is right for you. Chris.

The empty scene is so lonely and grief is lingering in the shadows to catch us unawares! There is always someting there to remind us like the refrain of a song!

SO BEAUTIFULLY WRITTEN, BOY I SEEN MYSELF HERE, I STILL FIND MYSELF THINKING ABOUT WHAT TIME TODAY I'LL GO SEE MOM, I CAN'T GO SHOPPING WITHOUT SEEING SOMETHING AND THINKING HOW MUCH SHE WOULD LIKE THAT, I CAN'T SEE A PRETTY FLOWER OR HEAR A BIRD SING, THAT I DON'T THINK OF HER AND WISH SHE COULD SEE IT TOO, THAT'S THE WAY IT IS WITH LOVE, WE ALWAYS WANT TO SHARE THE BEAUTIFUL THINGS WITH THOSE WE HAVE LOVED, THANKS KENT

Excellent Sam... and so true.  Many times I still pick up the phone to call my Mom when something happens... or come into their house to visit my dad and expect her to greet me... Its always a let down, a sad wave that envelopes me and forces my eyes to tear for I miss her so.  Your poem also made me cry but they were sweet tears as they always are when I think of her and miss her.  That is the mark of a great poet.  One that makes us feel.  Great work my friend

awesome simply awesome, this was extremely moving I could tell it come straight from the gut or the heart however you might say it, bottom line awesome. I see my old daddy every where not a day goes by I don't catch a glimpse of him. as much as it hurts sometimes I take great comfort in the presence of his memories.

Sam
So many of life’s simple moments can remind us of someone who once was an integral part of our life;  a book, a song, etc.  I loved how you built on this emotion.
