Re: You Are Correct!

RedStatesMan - this comment of yours is notable in the fact that it is the very first in all of your time here where you have actually said something in a comment to me that was not dripping with hatred and vitriol. It was almost agreeable, though I doubt that any Americans have ever died to give me " . . . this right, this freedom." . . . (though many Canadians have).

So in the same spirit

May your mythical creator being bless you and your family as well.

. . . and season's greetings.

Near death experiences are the closest we can get to an idea of the other side! There is no shortage of those in the available literature. Or, die and know for sure!

You Are Correct!

You stated the following very true statement:

"there has never been a person on this planet that has any idea what happens to us after we die. There never will be a person on this planet that can tell us what happens to us after we die."

This statement is 100% correct! Your belief and/or opinion that there is no God  is just that, your opinion. My beliefe and/or opinion that God exist and is alive is just that, my opinion. You have the right to express your opinion on your website and/or Blogit and I will fight to the end to preserve your right to do so. I enjoy the same right as you do to express my opinions, as a believer, as well. Many American died to give you and I this right, this freedom.

Thank you for posting these two sentences of complete truth!

May God bless you and your family!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

The lengths some will go to satiate that need is sometimes alarming.

Re: I can’t see why it is so stupid to listen to those who have died

ammon - it is interesting to be sure to listen to near death experiences but what do you think they are actually telling us? All recollections without notable exception are culture specific. If we can sort through an individual's reconstruction of one of these types of experiences, we do see that most human biophysical reactions are somewhat the same. Hypoxia produces the white light, it just depends what religion the person is and where they are from, as to how the recollection is reconstructed.

It is fine to use the imagination but if it is used to construct or worse, to reconstruct reality, it soon becomes nothing more than a delusion.

very true -- no one knows
and the lake of fire thing -- the entire book of Revelation is metaphor -- nothing is literal, but people want to believe it's true.

I can’t see why it is so stupid to listen to those who have died
and returned to tell of it!  There are many death and near death experiences that form the basis of valid scientific inquiry.  I’m very certain that when Marco Polo returned from China and began to recount his experiences, there were those who saw it as bizarre, imaginative and unreal.  The imagination is clearly the transit into many other fine dimensions and if you haven’t yet been to these realms then you are missing out. You’ll be surprised by how much you can actually learn there and bring back with you, duty free!

I enjoy reading you sometimes and today is no exception

Of course we don't know what the "other side" is like but from years of being there with the dying I know there's something  and it includes people we have loved in this life. Funny thing is it so often starts 6 weeks before the person dies. And quite often they are drug and pain free. They are visited by people they have loved and then comment how good it is to see them again. No drama no angels with harps or devils with flames.Just a peace. I don't try to tell anyone about the after life, I just feel sure it's all going to be alright.
