I rage, too, that summer is gone. But, I seem
to get busy writing. Coldness actually increases
our metabolism for writing.

Re: My dear Lion
I know they are needed, dear one, but I always go through a period of grief for the loss of the light - and every year it takes a while to realise that's why I am feeling out of sorts

Re: On a grey November day like today
thanks malcolm - there is something very bleak about an English winter, isn't there? Of course it may be the same everywhere...I don't know yet

Re: Lion
Thanks Troosha, I am very much a lover of Spring and Summer - the dark months are very hard to remain positive, I like light and clean heat - not darkness and cold, wet days :P

My dear Lion
even our summer looks like its coming to an end; saving grace is winter is light and quick here and we usually still have plenty of sunlight all the way through even if it is quite cold; like many things my friend the seasons are unavoidable and necessary! Great write; many blessings and thanks

On a grey November day like today
this really resonated with me. I suffer more after Christmas when the January blues hit but I don't think I could express that as beautifully as you have done here.

Lion
There is kind of a mourning or mental shift when summer leaves us, isn’t there? Takes me a while to get into the autumn/winter mood. The shorter days and the darkness is what kills me the most…. Loved your spin on the transition (even though it seemed rather painful).
