Go to The Democrat Party: America's Cancer

Wow...
First of all, you stated, "I then receive the usual negative comments from our liberal/democrat and/or atheist (all the same) bloggers when it comes to bringing the Bible or God into a political discussion." I completely resent that. "All the same?" I believe in God but I am a Dem. It would be just as easy (and immature) to state that all Conservatives/Republicans are Bible Thumpers. Please. And, BTW, SEPERATION OF CHURCH AND STATE. Remember that??? Next, the statement about the $42k? Complete LIE. You made that up. Check your facts and PROVE THEM. It is $200k and up. I also belive that your quote about the conversation between the black women at the store is utter B.S., too.

Re: Re: One Thing
Okay, this is a tangled mess, and beyond comprehension in places, but if I were to take of the Gordian knot, I wouldn't use a sword. There's no challenge that way.
What has Social Conservatism tried to force me to do? Pray in public places, or at least sit quietly by while others pray to a God I don't believe in, and all in the name of my government. Yes, I have experienced that. Lie to my children. Okay, I didn't have to lie. But they lied to my children. Abstinence Only Sex Education? A bunch of lies packaged and called education. And my children sat through it. Teaching of Creationism in public schools. My neighborhood school in Georgia, that's what the science teacher did, as told to me by my neighbors. Utter nonsense, sold as science. And defended in court, all across the country, by people with no understanding of science at all. Huge waste of money, and it inhibits real education and thought. And there are the laws in Ohio governing, for example, the selling of alcohol, which is restricted on Sundays due to Social Conservative activists who won't let the legislature modernize, even based on data showing the effects, or lack thereof, of the current laws. Oh, and the gay marriage issue. Yes, I know gays. I'm related to some. And Social Conservatives insist on keeping up the persecution. And yes, it does affect me when people I care about are made to suffer needlessly.
Now then, Nancy Pelosi will not allow illegal immigrants to invade or to vote. Remember, Democrats favor unions, and unions don't like cheap competition in the labor market, so they oppose immigration reform that doesn't include firm control of the borders. It was Bush and McCain that wanted that amnesty thing, not Pelosi.
Being the father of two who voted for the first time in a presidential election this year, I can state with confidence that not all first time voters were uninformed. I doubt you could hold your own with either of my children in a debate. My son, after all, is at the top liberal arts school in the world, and majoring in economics. He knows his stuff. Now, I am tempted to say he is extraordinary, but his friends in high school and college have had similar interests. They are bright, energetic, intelligent, and politically aware. My guess is that they knew more about the candidates and issues than the average American over 30. They will keep track of developments, and make astute decisions in the next election, too.
Blacks will, of course, vote for Obama. Unless there is a more liberal black candidate running against him. Or a conservative black candidate, if he really screws up. But not all white Democrats voted for Obama, nor all women, or even all Hispanics. And most of them will choose based on the choices presented to them. I am more confident of predicting your vote than the average woman or Hispanic in the next election.
Oh, and voting for a candidate is not equivalent to dictatorship. Obama does not seek dictatorship. That was Bush and Cheney. It didn't take. It won't. Especially under the watch of the liberals. Too many of us are wary of power in the hands of any small group. We know something about human nature, being humanists, and we know that power corrupts. So we keep our eyes open all the time.
If a wake-up call is needed (again) we'll find a way to send it. Have the Republicans offer something of merit, and we'll even consider that.

Thanks to both Xeno-x and RedStateMan
Thanks to you both, we are able to experience the beauty of Democracy - exercising our right to speak. We can argue and disagree without being disagreeable. Politics is a science of good government. Let the Democrats run the government according to the issues the American people voted for. Let the Republicans wait for their turn - Rotsen

Xeno, "Collapse in New York" is a movie coming to a theatre near you in the next four years. I just hope there will not be a sequel in 2012!

Re: Re: One Thing
by misinformed, do you mean people who don't vote like you vote? what makes you think you are not misinformed. You have made quite a few misinformed statements here on Blogit -- took off my gloves, then took off my shoes and socks and discovered I still couldn't count the many times you have been misinformed.
the new voting bloc certainly is not what you want. Is that why the South has kept Blacks out of the voting process for so many years? Reading between the lines, you consider Whites to have superior thinking skills.
And of course, you, yourself, would vote for George W. Bush, no matter how poorly HE performs -- you would probably even support a third term -- maybe even hoping that it still might happen -- eh? He has violated the Constitution numerous times, so why not one more -- don't have fingers and toes enough to count them (thought I'd use that quip a second time).

Re: One Thing
Social conservatism has not made or told or demanded you do anything. Does anyone force you to do anything? No. Give me on example of how social conservatism has affect your life in that it has forced you to do something against your will.
Send a wake-up call is a nice thought but I do not think that will happen. This is why:
- Obama with Pelosi and Reid will open the doors for all illegal immigrants to flood into this nation and they will always vote for a democrat.
-The demographics have changed and will change more. Look at how many young misinformed voters voted for the first time this year.
-Do you actually think that blacks will stay home as they have in the past prior to this election in 2012? No, they will flood the voting booths in 2012 to vote for Obama again no matter how bad he performs.
-All white democrats will vote for Obama again in 2012.
-Just like in 2008 women, hispanics and blacks will vote for the same crowd in 2012 no matter what. This is what the democrat party has always wanted: dictatorship.

One Thing
Well, you got one thing right. I don't support social conservatism. That's because it doesn't work for anyone's good, and I won't tolerate government telling me what to do, especially in my private life.
As for this cycle, we'll see. Republicans did a pretty good job of spending borrowed money on pet projects, and leaving the future tax-payers with the debt. If Democrats follow suit, we're in trouble. But there is a cure for apathy short of dependence. We'll just send a wake-up call.
