Do you know the situation: you are telling someone something and in the middle of it they say: "Yes, but..." and off they go blah, blah, blah leaving you and your story high and dry and feeling like a fool in the process.

Yes on occasion this has happened to me
two people who are very closely connected with me are especially guilty and, yes, I find it very annoying and frustrating - if I didn't love them so much I would have given up conversation with them long ago

Have pity on the fools, as Mr. T would say. They're a bit ADHD.
BTW, that "diagnosis" wouldn't have occurred to me if I hadn't been watching Channel 9 about 4:30 a.m. looking for a cure for insomnia, video classroom on... you guessed it... ADHD.
