TAPS
So glad you're feeling better and good luck with giving up so many pleasures......I didn't give it a second thought when I saw those stones in there.....and haven't had any problems since.

merkie, I'm sure I'll be caving in now and then, like maybe Thanksgiving and Christmas feasts, but I really do need to behave if I want to avoid surgery.

I am glad things are better for you. Self denial of treats is difficult. Good luck !

TAPS, I feel for you and can relate...I am currently struggling with my
own problems with indigestion and reflux...I am removing things I love from the diet (chocolate and my vanilla frap - it has enough coffee in it, I believe, to inflammate the reflux problem

Good to hear you are feeling better Taps!
It's hell that pain!  Mine would come on so suddenly and I'd be knocked down quick.  I remember rolling on the floor while two of my little kids sat and watched...I sure scared them..didn't want to but I couldn't help it and it was from eating a couple of crackers with peanut butter.  I have never eaten much fried food...never liked it so it was hard to know what to give up.  I agree about surgery but sometimes it is just the answer.  I feel 100% more like me since my summer surgeries and I had tried to put them off.

You are such a trouper!

Very happy you are better now--and as one who has had to make some dietary changes, can appreciate the sense of loss, but perhaps it reassures that because of those changes, I am healthier than I have been in years, and doing more, feeling better, and even able to go back to some of those food things in moderation.

I also feel that the older one gets, the further from major surgery one can stay, the better.

What ever blessings may be mine to bestow, I send your way!

Hoping you feel better. I never had this kind of attack but I saw my mom's and yes as a kid I knew something was very wrong and I too was very nervous about maybe... loosing my mom.

Taps
Sounds like son #1 has a soft heart and loves his mother dearly.  Funny… we sometimes don’t realize what events stick in our children’s mind.  In fact we often think “they probably don’t even remember that”.  Glad you’re back in action, Taps, and I suppose your recent bout was a reminder that all those yummy, fatty things – off limits to you.

TAPS< my dear,

I am sooo glad that you're feeling better! No coffee and all that other good stuff? It's tough! I know it would be for me, but your health is the most important thing, and I'm sure you'll adjust and find other pleasures. You are allowed chocolate, aren't you? And I agree with you regarding surgery.

Personally, I am very anal-retentive when it comes to my body parts - I am still regretting the loss of my appendix, and I'm not quite over the loss of my wisdom teeth either...

Thank you, Corbin_Dallas.  I'm fine now.  Hopefully I will stay that way, at least from that malady.

Pat_B, I've considered it, but not very seriously.  Surgery for anything is always my last option.  If there is another way, I would try it first.  That is from a lady who has had five different necessary surgeries.  "Only if absolutely necessary" is my motto.  LOL
I love hugging my sons even though they are "old men" now.  (actually, in their 40's, they are all still kid's at heart)

Sorry to hear you are ......
going through all of this........I know several people who have had theirs removed and returned to a normal life....sure you won't reconsider?   Hope you get to feelinga whole lot better........we need our daily  "TAPS fix"!

I think it would be easier just to have the surgery. Give up all the
food that brings you joy?  or pay the consequences...  Although, hospitals carry such crazy risks these days, you may be better off just to take a bite of your faves and let your body deal with it.  I love that little kid of yours, so worried about his mom. Don't you just want to hug him?

Re: I just commented in your last post
Ah, Mal.  You would mention cheese.  I think there are at least six kinds in my refrigerator that I bought before....
Oh well.  Son will gradually eat it up.  I must go read your "Sabbath" piece.

Thanks so much, OTA.
Not much it would seem when I dream of cheese.
But, whole grains and fresh fruits and vegetables are not to be sneezed at.

I just commented in your last post
(sorry I've been away, but not due to illness).  Glad you're on the mend.  My first "attack" was when Ben was a baby and I was grocery shopping.  I couldn't MOVE - I thought I was having a heart attack!  I never had surgery and now just stay away from eating pounds of cheese, which set it off the first time.  I posted my "sabbath" piece today in the religion section, if you want to take a gander.  Missed reading you!  Mal

Oh good. I am glad that you are feeling better. I am wondering what you CAN eat after that list though. ~Peace, OTA
