And yes, I'm being a good boy, not exerting my eyes. It's like the book - Freedom at Midnight, it says that the clock reads 10 minutes to midnight, but it has been stuck there for the last twenty years.

You do need some sunshine dear princess. Winter is so symbolic of desolate days. As Shelley says, "If winter comes,can spring be far behind?" It is also the hymn of our world. xoxo:-)
- Life may change, but it may fly not;
- Hope may vanish, but can die not;
- Truth be veiled, but still it burneth;
- Love repulsed - but it returneth. Percy Bysshe Shelley

Sterling imagery Sinome! I was so taken with use of an apparition and the eloquent description of the ones from the past haunting stirred up memories for me. I think this is a mark of an excellent poem when it reaches out and touches the reader profoundly! Most awesome! PLUTO!!! sammy

Deeply poignant, Sinome...
...and artfully and eloquently expressed, as usual.
Unfortunately, I can relate to the sentiments you've expressed here.

Blank, but not empty,like canvases erased.
What a cool line though sometimes I think of that clean winter canvass as a source of new thoughts, new inspirations, but also, yes, something that makes us reflect upon times gone by.

Winter is depressing...must be the lack of sunlight and blue skies with puffs of cloud!

Marta, for God's sake, don't frighten me. We don't HAVE white blank skies in Miami, do we? Please, please say it was all your imagination.

Beautiful. When the spring returns it brings with it new hopes and
ambitions and projects of course. Wiley says we sort of hibernate now so we have the energy needed in the Spring.
