Have not been taught to work or think for themselves.  Put it to him this way, "unless you shape up, you're not going to make it to the next level."

i used to have a big heart at work - but MY WORK started to suffer because of people like this guy. sometimes people just don't belong in certain places and this guy needs to take a walk to find something else.

I wish I could say that!  But I feel so bad considering he's such a sweetheart in other ways. *sigh*  I try to write it off as his age, but then I think back to when I was in my early 20s, and I honestly don't think I was like him.  I wrote things down.  I tried my best.  *sigh*
