Re: this "allegory" isn't exactly the best analogy.

FineYoungSinger - the "kin" and followers followed him and he could do no wrong... until the final week of his life - according to the story. There is only the three year history of the so-called ministry...

... and I do not know exactly how anyone would die on a cross or anywhere - except alone.

... and you just proved my point... the idiot religious feel they can get away with anything... as long as they have the ultimate sacrificial lamb. What a joke.

Finally... the whole Jesus story is an allegory... to every other hero story ever written or told. Ever read Greek and Roman mythology? How about Nordic? How about Anglo-Saxon? All of which date back long before the time of Jesus. Nah... only the Bible - which is a combination of Hebrew (the old) and Roman (the new). The Greatest Fable Ever Told.

I am trying to figure out what FineYoungSinger is saying.
But you  are right -- this is some ugly nonsense and it has to stop.  I already put in my vote for change.

this "allegory" isn't exactly the best analogy.

1, Jesus was abandoned by his followers, turned in by his kin, beaten and crucified by roman soldiers and left to die---alone.  Obama is hailed by his followers, protected by his kin, and seems no worse for the wear for what his opposition are "putting him through".

2, If Obama were in fact being beaten, abandoned, backstabbed and crucified, then Jesus would say "forgive them", since that's what he said from the cross while he was being murdered.
