Re: Sometimes you don't appreciate schoolmates so much at the time.
I appreciated Linda Goodson. She kept me laughing for four of the worst years of my life all the way up to my graduation at which she made me laugh so hard in that phoney, dressed up situation that I pissed my pants. Fortunately there was the graduation gown to cover it up with. It's so great to hear from her. She wrote me again this morning saying could we have lunch when she comes to the Chicago area to see her kids and grandkids.
That writers' group you go to sounds like the real deal. i'd be intimidated I think. When I'm with real writers I feel like I'm only faking it sometimes. Inferiority complex strikes deep and hard from too many years of husbands' and parents' destructive criticism.
I can't get over how much I enjoyed and admired your Joan Baez poem. I can't wait till I'm not on deadline to come back and read more. I spent ten hours each day the past two days researching home remedies that work and why they work. I also had a bid in to write an astrology newsletter.. I love astrology and really wanted it. This morning the publisher e-mailed me to say thanks for the additional writing sample. Unfortunately he was unable to read it because it was missing a right margin. Damned Apple and their text edit application. I knew it was acting up but I thought I fixed it. Goodbye to that one.
Peace. Maryellen

Re: very interesting! most of these I've never heard before.
I'm glad you found it interesting. I do too, and always have sort of collected and used them. I just hope the publisher and his readers find the article interesting. I am pleased by the fact that the publisher wants to know not only what the home remedies are but exactly why they work. That makes it fun. I tell you all a person really needs is organic, unfiltered honey and organic apple cider vinegar to treat everything. Thanks for reading. I just came back from your website. Left you a comment. I really do respect where you are coming from. Maryellen

Sometimes you don't appreciate schoolmates so much at the time.
But years later, when you find them on Facebook or one of those old school sites, they turn out to be someone who gets you. Most people don't, and this makes them like family only better. Found a guy once I used to work for, thought he was a bit out there at the time. He quit the college job and began producing musicals - "Jesus Christ Superstar" was his baby in the beginning. He now lives in the south of France and makes wine. I hate people whose lives turned out so much more fun than mine...
