Re:

#1 I could care less what you suggest.

#2 I must warn you that your statements are setting you up to look foolish because I have the perfect example to prove my point which I will post. The ACLU lies and they have their own worthless agenda. I will use your comment to prove exactly why as well as other liberal comments to this post.

I have, on numerous occasions, suggested to you that your opposition to expressions and ideas should be founded in logic. Here you are displaying a complete lack of our system of jurisprudence and customs. Unless the statements one makes are so egregious as to cause harm or danger to the other or to the national interest it is protected under the first amendment to our Constitution. What Mr. Murtha  says  may offend many but it violates no law.

Of course, one may disagree with the ACLU on any one issue, but it petitions the courts to rule on its approach. It they did no have merit they would not have lasted this long. The courts have either accepted or denied their petitions. No court has ever said they are being frivolous, being liberal, conservative, or used  any similar label to describe the petitions they have brought.

Re: Re: Why?
I know some examples, too.  The ACLU defended the preacher who wanted to protest against gays at funerals.  They take freedom of speech seriously.  They also take separation of church and state seriously, which often clashes with perceptions of freedom of speech.  It is a question of judgment which takes precedence in a given case, but in government sponsored activities of any kind, they oppose the intrusion of religion of any kind.

In the case you present, there is no question of a clash of principles.  Murtha can say anything he wants.  Period.  You can listen or not, and react or not, but you can't charge him with any crime.  Not so long as the Constitution is the law of the land.  The ACLU understands that, as I'm sure they told you in response to your email.

Re: Re: THAT'S NOT ACLU'S JOB TO ADDRESS THE STUPID LETTER YOU WROTE
I guess I will again post ACLU's actions again -- then you can tell me how their suits violate anyone's freedom of speech or other constitutional freedom.

of course you are in favor of the Patriot Act -- THAT DOESN'T AT ALL VIOLATE ANYONE'S FREEDOMS -- RIGHT?

Re: THAT'S NOT ACLU'S JOB TO ADDRESS THE STUPID LETTER YOU WROTE
That's funny! They always address every email I send them, of course with the usual worthless anti-American liberal reply. The ACLU opposes freedom of speech if you disagree with them. Look at Rev. Wright and imagine what would have happened if a white man had said things as he did against the black population. I am shocked you do not understand this, you should get out more often.

Re: Why?
Oh, you really need a lesson in how things work. Do you want me to give you examples of how the ACLU opposes the freedom of speech? I could do at least a hundred posts on that topic alone. Where have you been? The ACLU opposes freedom of speech of people who disagree with them. I do have plenty of examples.

Why?
Why would you ask the ACLU to directly violate the Constitution and their stated principles by opposing freedom of speech?  Murtha can say anything he likes.  And suffer the consequences.  (Polls show his re-election is in doubt, deservedly.)  You can also say anything you like.  And we can judge your level of knowledge and wisdom based on your decisions, just as we can his.

THAT'S NOT ACLU'S JOB TO ADDRESS THE STUPID LETTER YOU WROTE

Let Him Keep Talking...
I heard two callers on Sean Hannity yesterday who are from that part of "redneck" Pennsylvania.  Needless to say, Murtha is securing votes for McCain with that statement.
