Nice poem...
Have you read 'The Alchemist,' by Paulo Coelho... There is an Alchemist character which is symbolic of our guardian angel that makes an appearance to help the protagonist Santiago to achieve his desire, destiny and dream... This Alchemist has at his behest a Falcon which brings them prey from the vast expanses of the desert for their meal... It is symbolic of a well trained faculty of us disciplined human beings in general... It could be anything, any skill, that will keep us afloat during our lean times... Your poem reminded me of that philosophy...

Fantastic poem!  just loved it.  Recently I met a guy from Kuwait.  He raises falcons back in his country and was talking to me about it at a party we both went to.  He told me so much about them, how he admired  and respected those birds.  And now you write about them... wow... and you captured everything he had said so well... You are amazing Sam ,  sometimes I think you have a third eye :-) Great poem!

You have very interesting concepts, though I felt I was getting closer to it thru the passion of your voice--oh, a story teller! Bravo!

Thank you SAM444. The Falcon is an Awesome bird. A surreal creeping feeling comes over me . . . . who is the hunted, who is the hunter? Even as death is a sure thing. An Eerily pulsing poem, my heart is stopped. Love "The Falconer".

Falconry has always fascinated me, both in books and movies.  I've never seen the sport in person.  Very good writing.
