I think Blogit is at its best when it generates dialogue as has occurred in this post. I wish we had more of this.

Re: ABC's decision sucks rocks. But they know where their bread is buttered.

Pat_B,

as the core and ancient stations become only fearful and over controlled by their handlers, they will drive their own business away to other sources with time.

The alternative fuel people could make their ad much more viral in nature. They could place it upon youtube and other video sites and then link every site that they know of or are associated with to the video and ask that it be passed around virally. Pay to put it on other fearless stations.

At some point, everyone may learn the newer lessons of advertising which begin with, the power and dominance can be taken away from television by using and promoting and actively creating newer means to reach out.

As green, true green economy takes over, newer corporate models are forming and they include more citizens every day.......deny thy citizens and invite the empty corporate pocket syndrome.

I await the future and all that the kid's brains hold as alternatives to $$$$$ t.v.

That one video, Chocolate Rain on youtube, passed around viarlly and then called attention to by t.v. later, has now had 29,596,621 hits or viewings.

Now, wouldn't that be nice for a really catchy and INFORMATIVE ad about alternative fuels? Get your involved and angered and rebellious feeling Hollywood and HipHop people to help make the ad HollyHipFAB and then watch it spread the word virally.

Will.i.Am did it for Obama with his hip video. Dunno how many views that one has had as it was duplicated and moved around, separating viewings, but is shows over 10 million now, and I still go watch it periodically as I like the video for other than just political reasons....

Power to the people.

ABC's decision sucks rocks. But they know where their bread is buttered.
That repower ad might cost the network hundreds of ads, hundreds of thousands of dollars, if the big energy guys decided to cancel theirs. Those guys don't want the competition to get a word in edgewise, so they will leverage the marketing department with just such threats. I hope the word gets around in spite of this obstacle.
