Elemental sulfur in the atmosphere isn't all that likely to form acid rain. Sulfur oxides do that. Of course, there is oxygen in the atmosphere, and other reactions will occur, but I suspect the environmental chemists know something about those. But agree that it is an odd silver lining to see, that global recession will slow carbon dioxide output. There are better ways of addressing the world's ills.
